About the Position
We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant who desires a new professional challenge to be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and patient management in all of our locations. This person’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, triaging patients and phone calls, assisting Physicians with patient and procedure, scheduling testing, setting up and restocking exam rooms including cleaning medical instruments, taking vitals and histories, performing venipuncture and allergy shots, opening/closing clinic daily, and completing other medical duties as needed.

Essential Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical
Ability to travel independently throughout the office to access information from other departments, climb stairs on a daily basis, and stand and walk for long periods of time.
Mental
Ability to work under stress, with interruptions and deadlines, process verbal information and input this information onto patient charts, follow complex instructions, master basic vital sign, venipuncture, and patient triaging skills, and think logically in following procedures and instructions.
Technical/Motor
Ability to enter and retrieve data from patient charts and files, operate modern office business machinery, operate phone system, and utilize medical equipment and machines.
Sensory
Ability to converse in a calm and friendly manner, view data on patient charts and files, and communicate on the phone.
Interpersonal
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with colleagues, practice staff, patients, public, physicians and their staff and third party insurance personnel.
Working Conditions
Well lit and ventilated, with non-hazardous equipment. Job related tasks involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues or a potential for spills or splashes of these fluids. There is also a potential for exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Required Experience: 

High school diploma or GED certification required. Medical Assistant or equivalent required. Certified Medical Assistant Strongly Preferred. Minimum one year prior experience in medical assisting and knowledge of vital signs, patient triaging, and injections required.
