Facelift / Necklift

Aging of the face is a natural occurrence, which can be exacerbated due to genetics, sun exposure and tobacco use. As we age, the skin and soft tissues of the face lose volume and loosen causing wrinkles, redundant skin, jowl formation, sagging skin under the chin, and vertical folds along the front of the neck. Forehead lines and crows feet around the eyes may also appear and deepen over time.

Facelift/necklift surgery, called rhytidectomy, is one of the most commonly performed procedures in facial plastic surgery. Although this procedure can be very successful on patients from their thirties to eighties, the current trend is to have the procedure done at a younger age.

Facial plastic and cosmetic surgery makes it possible to correct many facial flaws and signs of premature aging, which can lead to patients experiencing an increased self-confidence. Dr. Angelos's goal in facelift surgery is to achieve naturally-appearing facial rejuvenation and improvements without looking too stretched, pulled, or overdone.

Neck Liposuction

Neck contouring is a procedure performed on patients who have persistent fat deposits below the chin and in the neck area. Often, when fat accumulates around the neck, the youthful shape of the jaw is lost. With liposuction, Dr. Angelos sculpts this area and removes fat to restore the angular qualities of the chin and jaw. This is often performed in conjunction with a facelift, depending on your degree of skin laxity. A benefit of neck liposuction is the potential for redistribution of the removed fat via injections under the skin to other facial areas that have lost volume.

Midface Lift

As we age, the upper cheek fat and tissue descends creating more pronounced cheek/lip folds as well as other changes in the midface region. A midface lift addresses the lip/cheek folds, upper cheek area, and supports the lateral lower eyelid area to give a more youthful appearance. The procedure is typically performed endoscopically, so the incisions are smaller and well hidden.

Facial Trauma Reconstruction

Blunt and penetrating facial trauma may result in mild to severe soft tissue injuries as well as potentially disfiguring fractures of the facial bones. Appropriate surgical correction of these facial injuries can help to restore facial harmony and improve the patient's overall cosmetic appearance.

Brow / Forehead Lift

A brow or forehead lift addresses the effects of aging on the brow/forehead area, which are frequently one of the first areas of the face to show signs of aging. This procedure raises the brows in order to remove the appearance of forehead wrinkles and frown lines. It is commonly done in conjunction with upper eyelid surgery for optimal results, thus improving the overall appearance of the forehead and the upper eye area. There are many approaches and techniques used for forehead and brow lifting. Dr. Angelos will determine which option may be best suited for your individual case.

Rhinoplasty and Nasal Airway Repair

Rhinoplasty, a procedure to reshape the nose, is one of the most common procedures in all of plastic surgery. It can change the appearance and proportion of your nose, enhancing facial harmony and self confidence. Due to the nose's central position on the face, even a minor correction can make a big difference in facial aesthetics. Rhinoplasty, often in conjunction with other associated nasal procedures, may also correct impaired breathing caused by structural abnormalities in the nose such as a deviated septum, turbinate hypertrophy, or nasal valve collapse. With his expertise in cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty, Dr. Angelos is very sensitive to both aspects of patient's concerns and strives to give the very best improvement in both areas.

Eyelid surgery, also called an eyelid lift or blepharoplasty, can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and/or lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. Though blepharoplasty is often performed as a single procedure, Dr. Angelos may also recommend other procedures or injectables for the optimal result.

Otoplasty, sometimes called "ear pinning" surgery, is most commonly performed for protruding or prominent ears. In addition to its cosmetic benefits, the procedure can give a real emotional boost to a patient troubled by prominent ears. For children, this procedure is typically performed once the ears have reached full size, usually around 5 years of age or prior to starting school if that is a concern.

Earlobe Repair or Reduction

Earlobe repair is a procedure for people with torn or split earlobes. Tears of the earlobes can occur when earrings are accidently pulled or when they catch on clothing. They can also be the gradual result of wearing heavy earrings over many years leading to a longer hole or split in the earlobe. Sagging or large earlobes (a natural part of aging) may also be reduced for cosmetic reasons. Earlobe surgery is typically performed under local anesthesia and has a relatively quick recovery time.

Chin, Cheek & Lip Augmentation

Chin augmentation is a procedure that is done to provide balance to a person's profile, where a well-defined chin is an integral part of facial harmony. Chin augmentation can be performed alone or to compliment the overall result of other procedures, such as rhinoplasty or face/neck lift. Cheek and lip augmentation are similar procedures that are often performed in conjunction with rhinoplasty or other facial cosmetic surgery.

Skin Resurfacing

Over the years, the effects of aging and sun damage can take a toll on the appearance of skin. Other conditions such as acne and previous injuries or surgery can affect the skin's quality. The goal of skin resurfacing is to improve the appearance and tone of a patient's skin. The new layer of skin that is regenerated has reduced wrinkles along with improved texture and color. There are several techniques in which skin resurfacing can be performed including dermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser resurfacing. Each of these methods removes the outer layer of damaged skin and encourages collagen remodeling in the dermal layer. The results and recovery times depend more on the depth of treatment than which modality is used.

Scar Revision

Facial scaring may be the consequence of an injury, accident, burn or acne; these scars can seem unsightly because they don't blend in well with the surrounding skin. Other scar conditions which may be improved are hypertrophic scars or keloids. Dr. Angelos offers many options for treating and improving facial scars. No matter how bad the scar is, it usually can be made significantly better. The treatment options include, but are not limited to, steroid injections, dermabrasion, and surgical treatment for scar revision. Surgical options include re-excision and careful closure for a more optimal scar as well as scar re-orientation procedures to camouflage the scar.

Skin Lesion Removal and Skin Cancer Reconstruction

Skin lesions are extremely common on the head, face, and neck. While many of these lesions are benign, others may be concerning for skin cancer, which is increasingly common on such sun exposed areas of the body. We offer excision and reconstruction of a variety of skin lesions affecting the head and neck.

Botox injections

Botox cosmetic is an injectable medication used to treat facial wrinkles which are caused by the action of the underlying muscles of facial expression. Common areas of the face that are treated with Botox include the glabellar region (between the eyebrows, above the nose), forehead, and "crow's feet" lines (around the eyes). A detailed facial assessment can help to determine the ideal treatment options for various facial lines and wrinkles.

Filler Injections

Dermal and soft tissue fillers are a great way to restore fullness to the face. These fillers can add more volume and minimize skin lines and wrinkles. The material is injected underneath the skin in the nasolabial fold, marionette lines, and oral commissures, which serves to plump up these areas and smooth out the wrinkles. Lip augmentation is also achieved with dermal fillers.
